Learning to play soccer

Mackenzie had her first soccer practice and game this week. She is playing soccer twice a week until the end of June. Last summer she talked about playing soccer whenever we drove past a soccer field so we signed her up to play this summer. She is playing with the YMCA and her friend Owen is on the same team.

It is so much fun to watch 3 and 4 year olds play soccer. They really do not care which goal the ball goes into as long as they get to chase after it and try to kick it.

Mackenzie learned during the first game when the ball goes out of bounds someone gets to throw it back in. That became her favorite thing to do. I guess we now need to work on kicking and throwing the ball.
